ΣConcrete Mix Formula
For RCC (M20 grade): 8 bags cement + 0.44 m³ sand + 0.88 m³ aggregate per m³ concrete.
Cement Calculator — Bags of Cement for Any Construction
Our cement calculator estimates the number of cement bags required for any concrete work — slab, column, beam, or footing — based on the volume of concrete needed and the mix design. For the most commonly used M20 grade concrete (1:1.5:3 mix — 1 part cement, 1.5 parts sand, 3 parts aggregate), approximately 8 bags (50 kg each) of cement are needed per cubic metre of concrete.
Concrete mix proportions matter significantly for structural strength. M15 (1:2:4) is used for non-structural work like pathways; M20 (1:1.5:3) for RCC slabs and beams; M25 (1:1:2) for columns and high-load structures. Our calculator uses the M20 standard mix — adjust cement quantity proportionally for other grades. Always add 5–10% wastage to your estimate for spillage and over-mixing.
Material estimation for 1 m³ M20 concrete: 8 bags of cement (400 kg), 630 kg of sand (0.44 m³), 1,260 kg of coarse aggregate (0.88 m³), and approximately 160–180 litres of water (water-cement ratio 0.4–0.45). Our concrete material calculator provides these quantities so you can estimate your construction material budget accurately before purchasing.
